No, not the CS player, the movies. I'd never seen any of the Rambo movies before, so I decided to download the first one and check it out. I was envisioning him out in a jungle somewhere waging his own war for a personal vendetta or something. It was nothing like that. The whole movie was based in a small town in the US, far from a foreign warlike setting. The 'enemies' in this one were actually the local police and national guard. The movie itself was pretty decent though and worth a watch. It made me interested enough to see what the 2nd and 3rd movies were about. Now Rambo 2 was more like what I thought the Rambo was all about. He was recruited out of prison (where the first movie left off) to go to Vietnam on a one man mission to find out if they were holding POW's. Most of this movie was set in the jungle where Rambo's expertise really shined and his Green Beret skills made for a more action packed movie than the first. The third movie was set in Afghanistan where he tries to liberate the locals from Russian control.
The series is definitely worth watching if you haven't before. They're real 'man' movies so to speak, with a good storyline and plenty of action. One thing that did surprise me though is that the normal conception of when people call another person 'Rambo' is totally wrong. Normally when you call someone Rambo you'd mean that person is reckless and just charges into a group of people by themselves without hesitation. However Rambo in the movie is actually a master of gorilla warfare. He's extremely sneaky everywhere he goes and constantly surprises the enemies with different tactics by utilizing the environment around him. Basically, he's a badass. I'll be checking out the more recent Rambo next and I hear there's much much more killing in that one. Hopefully it won't let down because the first three definitely didn't. If you're an avid CS player, you should check out Rambo's first three movies for sure. Hope you enjoyed your small Rambo recap!
